Business news: Maloney congratulates new Secretary of Banking

HARRISBURG — State Rep. David Maloney on June 17 attended the swearing-in ceremony in Harrisburg for Glenn E. Moyer, Pennsylvania’s new secretary of banking. Moyeris the former president and CEO of National Penn Bancshares, Boyertown. Moyer, of Oley, will supervise a staff of nearly 200 who implement state regulations on banks, credit unions and mortgage companies.
Free story time for kids offered at Gently Used Books
DOUGLASSVILLE — Gently Used Books offers afree “Stories & Snacks” time for preschoolers twice each Wednesday — first at 10 a.m., and again at 2 p.m.
Children and parents will enjoy about 30 minutes of well read stories and a healthy light snack in the Children’s Room at Gently Used Books.
